3.23.11
The Please & Thank Yous Mind
Yr P's & Q's cassettes are back in stock and looking better
than ever! They're also cheaper than before. Sorry to everyone who got
the first press, but this press looks 100 times better than the original.
I'm still working on the TWIABPAIANLATD tape, but it shouldn't be too
much longer until that's ready. Head over to the mailorder
section to pick up a TPATY tape!!
2.25.11
I'm super psyched to announce that HeWhoCorrupts
Inc. has digitally released Cloud
Mouth's The Ghost Is Always With Me! It's available for $5
on HWC Inc.'s bandcamp
page, and 50% of each download go to benefit Chicago
Hopes charity. From HWC Inc.: "HWC Inc has released the digital
version of “That Ghost is Always With Me” with half of each
sale going to CHICAGO HOPES - the cause Cloud Mouth has selected to benefit
from this release. Chicago Hopes is an initiative within Chicago Public
Schools which empowers students to succeed academically despite the challenges
of homelessness. The release is currently available through BANDCAMP
for $5. The release will soon be available on ITUNES, NAPSTER, and AMAZON."
This whole project has been awesome, and I'm super stoked to be fortunate
enough to work with HeWhoCorrupts Inc. who have been contributing to the
Chicago DIY community since before I knew one existed. Check them out
and support everything they do.
2.18.11
I updated the mailorder section to make ordering a little bit easier.
I'll be releasing a new cassette from Connecticut's The
World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die
in March. Topshelf
Records is holding preorders for the 7" version of the tape,
Josh is Dead. I'll have more information about the tape
including putting it up for download as soon as I get organized. A repress
of The Please & Thank You's Mind Yr P's & Q's is on its
way, too. Native tapes and Cloud Mouth/Cougar Den 7"s are all gone.
RIP.
11.27.10
OKAY! The Cloud Mouth 12"s are FINALLY HERE!!! They are fucking beautiful,
and I am so happy to have this record finished (FINALLY). Unfortunately,
since they just arrived and I will be leaving in a handful of hours for
tour with Cloud Mouth, I won't be able to send out the preorders unil
the second week of December. Sorry! Additionally, Cloud Mouth and I would
like to extend a "Thank You" to Keith and Count
Your Lucky Stars records for helping out with this 12". Be sure
to check out their catalo. They've released some great records by some
great bands (most recently the Reptilian's "Full Health" 10"
and Joie De Vivre's "The North End" 2xLP!).
More news...Boilerman's "Bright Young Things" EP has been released
on CD by Traffic
Street Records! Another awesome label putting out awesome music.
Anyway, mailorder will be put on hold until the second week of December,
so if you send me an e-mail I won't respond. Sorry! Be sure to come out
and see Cloud Mouth on their Fall
Tour and pick up their 12". Dnd check out the Kid/Age Distro!
08.11.10
Tupac. I had been feeling like a new layout was in order for a while and
it's finally here. I think everything is very much improved now.
Boilerman's
"Bright Young Things" 7" is available now. 100 on Seafoam
Green vinyl and 400 on White. Record is fucking great. Check it out here.
Cloud Mouth's
12", "That Ghost Is Always With Me," is still at the plant.
We're working on finishing this thing off as soon as we can, but it's
looking like an October release now. Sorry to everyone who preordered
it, but rest assured it will come and it will be worth the wait.
Additionally, all of our releases are available for stream and most are
available for download on our brand new bandcamp
page. Shit's off the hook. All downloadable releases are available
for free, but you're welcome to donate if you'd like. Additionally, all
downloads come with hi-res scans of all physical attributes that would
accompany owning the actual release. Check
it, spread it.
Native tapes & Cloud Mouth/Cougar Den 7"s are running low, and
The Please & Thank Yous and Torrential Downpour/Parrhesia tapes are
all gone. Expect a repress of the Please & Thank Yous' tape in the
future, but nothing else. Contigo tapes are still coming, don't fear (the
reaper).
05.23.10
The new 12" Cloud Mouth EP, That Ghost Is Always With Me,
is now available for preorder. This record
is so insanely great. Seriously, if you liked Cloud Mouth before you are
going to die when you hear these tracks. The band has grown so much and
these songs really show it. There are 50 preorder packages that give you
a 12" EP and a copy of Cloud Mouth's self-released Live
7", which you can preorder here.
The EP will drop in July, and Cloud Mouth will be hitting the road
wicked hard, so keep an eye or two out.
03.28.10
Alright, well, I'm not getting any better at this. Sweet Talk & Contigo
tapes should have been out by now, but neither of them are. I ran into
a plethora of issues with the Contigo tapes, but everything is figured
out now. Those are gonna be coming out in May, hopefully. I'm really bad
with time management. Sweet Talk tapes are on their way, though. They'll
be available April 9; the first day of their tour with Boilerman.
More info on that at Sweet Talk's tumblr
page. Also, you can download the Bed cassette &
two tracks that will be released later in the year on their bandcamp,
There's lots of shit going down. Expect more news in the coming months.
02.09.10
One: New website! I hope this makes everything easier for everybody.
Two: Mike C is now a part of Ice Age. Direct all Hatebreed inquiries to
him (sick of that joke yet? Me neither).
Three: The Please & Thank Yous' Mind Your P's & Q's Cassette
is coming February 14! It's finally fucking here! Shit is so good. Hop
over to the mailorder page and pick that shit up.
Four: Sweet Talk's Bed Cassette will be coming in March or April.
We'll see. It all depends on when we can get our shit together to record
those stupid songs.
Five: CLOUD MOUTH! FUCKING CLOUD MOUTH! Zach just left for Turkey (YEAH
FUCKING TURKEY!), and will be gone until June. But! Before Zach left he
laid down tracks for a new EP that will be released when they get back.
ON VINYL! Gasp! It's going to be fucking awesome, and we are both super
excited to get that out. It's obviously a long ways away, but I figured
I'd let everyone know about it. Seriously, so awesome. These tracks are
so good.
Six: Castevet tapes are all out, and Parrhesia Demo tapes are
temporarily out of stock. I'm all out of White and Clear Cloud Mouth/Cougar
Den Split 7"s. Torrential Downpour/Parrhesia Split
tapes are running low, though I'm sure you don't care. The Contio tapes
will be coming in March...hopefully. I feel like such a jackass pushing
those back all the time. And Native tapes are still here & still HOT!
Check Wrestling Moves out if you haven't. The record is so good.
So, yeah. It's been a long time away, but everything's back and better
than ever. Right?
11.22.09
Alrighty, Cloud Mouth/Cougar Den 7"s are out
and available for everyone! Yay! Coming in December will be Native's
debut full-length Wrestling Moves and the tape version of Castevet's
Big Scary Monster debut, The Echo And The Light. Awesome!!!
11.14.09
So today marks 365 days after my first release. I can't believe how far
this shitty "label" has come, so thanks to everyone who has supported
it. Thanks to all the bands who have wanted anything to do with me, whether
or not their releases are out yet. The Cloud Mouth release show went spectacular.
Thanks to everyone who came out to that, and thanks to Matt and John for
working their asses off to make that spot as awesome as it is. Anywho,
mailorder will be down til the 25th 'cause I'm going to be out of town
til then. So...if you order anything, please be patient. Thanks.
10.26.09
Some more unfortunate news...the Native tapes are going to have to be
pushed back to December because of some more money issues. But! The Cloud
Mouth/Cougar Den Splits are coming out in two weeks! The layout is looking
awesome, we just have to get it all printed up and put together. The release
show is going to be unreal. November 13 at the HBHQ in Chicago, IL with
Castevet, Harps of Tartarus, Proles, and 1 more TBA. Message Cloud
Mouth for more info on that.
10.2.09
Cloud Mouth/Cougar Den Split 7" Preorders are up
now! Buy one color for $7 (postage-paid), or all three for $16 (postage-paid)!
GET ON IT! Release show in Chicago on Friday the 13th (of November). SICK.
9.28.09
Okay, so my computer's broken right now so I'm a little bit behind on
a lot of things. Cloud Mouth/Cougar Den test presses came in and they
sound SWEET. That should be out by November 13th, and preorders will be
up soon. The Contigo Street Magic, Street Justice tapes are going
to have to be pushed back a little bit because of money issues and another
release that is demanding my immediate attention. That release is going
to be Native's
full length, Wrestling Moves. That will be out October 30th, along
with the CD version, which will be available from Sargent
House. Harrison Hickock of Kid
Sister Everything will be doing the artwork for the tape release,
and it's gonna be NASTY. Native will be hitting the road a ton over the
next couple months, so be sure to check them out. Not much other than
that, I suppose. I'll update the releases page soon...hopefully...
9.9.09
All red vinyl copies of Parrhesia's For Everything to Be Consummated,
For Me to Feel Less Alone, I Had Only to Wish That There Be a Large Crowd
of Spectators the Day of My Execution and That They Greet Me With Cries
of Hate are gone from Ice Age & only available through the band
at live shows. Cloud Mouth/Cougar Den 7"s are off to the plant! FINALLY!
Fuck me, right? Shit should be out around the first week of November.
Preorders will be up once I get the tests back. Preorders, right? ROCK
STARS.
9.05.09
Torrential Downpour/Parrhesia Split tapes
are available for purchase. They'll also be available from Utarid sometime
soon. Peep dat shit. Also, come to Summer
Camp in Chicago for the release show.
9.01.09
Cloud Mouth & Cougar Den are back from the road, and I no longer have
any Splits left! Rumor has it that those two clowns have a handful of
copies left, but no promises! E-mail them
yourselves! 7"s are still TBA because I am a scattered mess right
now and can't seem to get organized and get anything done.
The Torrential Downpour/Parrhesia Splits are finally here, too! They will
be available for purchase starting September 5th. In Chicago? Come to
Summer Camp
for the release show with Xerxes and Mountain Asleep!
Coming in November will be a very special release that I am very excited
about: British Colombia's Montreal's Contigo's
Street Magic, Street Justice Cassette. It fucking rages.
The Please & Thank Yous are finally done recording Mind Your P's
and Q's, so we just need to get it mixed, mastered, and figure out
the artwork situation and that will off to da press.
Some other cool stuff coming up, but it's mostly being worked out still.
The New Yorker just released their 6-song 7", Home Is Where The
Trees Grow. It fucking slays. Check
them out.
8.02.09
Cloud Mouth/Cougar Den Split cassettes are available now! The
boys (and girl) leave tonight for a month-long tour. I only have a handful
of tapes here, the rest of them are going on the road! Be the first to
get these sweet tapes complete with siq hand-assembled (w)o(w)-cards!
But seriously, these tapes look & sound fantastic. Fucking buy one.
$2+shipping. 7" coming in, like, 2 months or something. YEAH. Also,
go see Cloud Mouth
and Cougar Den
on the fucking road! YEAH!!!
7.14.09
Up next: Cougar Den/Cloud Mouth split Tape/7"! Tapes will be available
August 2nd for their Midwest/East Coast tour! 7"s will be available
in the coming months. Info on the releases page! GET STOKED!
7.01.09
Parrhesia's "...Cries of Hate" 7" is out now! Thanks to
all the preorderers. Hope you guys enjoy your posters! Records are now
available for $7 ppd, because the cost to mail the poster has been subtracted.
The release show last night with Witch Hunt was sick, and thanks to everyone
who came out to that, as well as John and Mark for putting on the show
and letting Parrhesia into their home. Some new stuff should be on its
way soon, so look out!
5.18.09
The test presses arrived today and the plant is getting started on the
rest of the records for Parrhesia's 7".
Preorders are up now! PREORDERS ARE UP NOW!!! All preorders get limited
seethru-red vinyl & a handscreened 11"x17" poster! GO! GO!
GO! (The records will be out June 30, 2009. Record release show at Simple
Days in Bloomington, IL with WITCH HUNT).
4.27.09
Finally! The order forms for Parrhesia's 7" have been sent out! I'm
hoping for a June release date, but because it took me so long to get
the order forms finished, it may come in early July/just in time for the
Parrhesia/Socially
Retarded tour. Also, I added paypal links to the releases
so you can order them without emailing me first. Also, Eating Glass is
almost finished with their half of the Blackbirds/Eating
Glass split, so that will be out this summer, too! Big stuff for Summer
'09...get stokified!
4.06.09
Alright! Parrhesia just got out of the
studio & finished recording their 7"
along with two compilation tracks. The songs are up now on their myspace!
The 7", For Everything to Be Consummated, For Me to Feel Less
Alone, I Had Only to Wish That There Be a Large Crowd of Spectators the
Day of My Execution and That They Greet Me With Cries of Hate, will
be out in mid-late June with the help of Ultra Nuclear Records. That's
really all for now.
2.24.09
It's been a slow couple of months. A couple of cool tentative plans in
the works, though...Utarid
Tapes out of Malaysia is going to be split-releasing the Torrential
Downpour/Parrhesia Split Cassettes, which I am supremely stoked
about. Also, coming out within the next couple months (theoretically,
it's all still being worked out) is the Blackbirds/Eating
Glass Split Cassette, with a vinyl version coming out on
Mayfly Records.
Both bands are fucking heavy as fuck and evil as hell. Get stoked. The
Please & Thank Yous are finally going back into the studio on March
7th to get back to work on Mind Your P's & Q's, so that will
hopefully be finished soon. Everything here is starting to sound like
wishful thinking, eh? It'll come together soon enough. Oh, and the stickers
came. They turned out really well.
On an un-label-related note, I started a messageboard with the help of
some of my friends as a resource for people and bands throughout the midwest.
It has turned into a wonderfully fun and hysterical shit-talking fest,
while also serving its initial purpose at times. For this I am very grateful
to everyone involved in it, and want to finally share it with anyone visiting
the website. Come join the Midwest
Punk Collective!
1.05.09
I've got some good news, and I've got some bad news. First, the good news:
Jeremy just left my house, so the Torrential Downpour/Parrhesia Split
cassette is going pretty much on schedule. His tracks sound fucking great.
I am super stoked on this release. The bad news, however, is that the
Please & Thank Yous recording has been postponed about a month or
so. Weak shit. We were supposed to be in the studio the last three days
finishing up Mind Your P's and Q's, but hopefully we'll be able
to get into the studio in early February. I have Volume II of "Remain
Unadapted" in my possession, but I haven't gotten around to scanning
it in. I'll do that asap. Also, I ordered some stickers a couple weeks
ago, so in a couple weeks I'll have them. Then you can stick them on other
people's things and make them angrrry. Then they'll buy shit from me.
Yeah!
12.9.08
I put up Volume I of Vince's "Remain Unadapted" zine on the
info page. There's an interview he did with me
on the first page, and a review of the Failure's LP on the second page.
Shit's rad. He'll have Volume II out this weekend, I think. You'll be
able to get it at either of the two Parrhesia
shows this weekend.
12.9.08
Exciting news!!! The
Please & Thank You's finally got their stupid shit together
and booked more studio time so they can finally finish the songs for their
full length. It's gonna be awesome. We're heading into the studio with
C-French in Rockford for a few days in early January, and it's gonna be
fucking awesome. Expect a February release for Mind
Your P's and Q's, hopefully. Also, I finally got in touch with
Jeremy of Torrential
Downpour, and he's gonna be back in Illinois from school, so
he'll be able to record his tracks for the Torrential Downpour/Parrhesia
Split, which will then be out in January
(hopefully). 2009 is gonna be a good year for Ice Age!
I got a mailing list set up so you can receive obnoxious emails about
unimportant updates from me! Yeah! Link on the info
page.
12.8.08
I thought the old layout was a bit too cluttered, so here's a new one.
I think it's nice. My friend Vince interviewed me for the first issue
of his zine, "Remain Unadapted" last month. I'm trying to get
my scanner working so I can put that up here for your viewing pleasure.
I've also got a different ordering system for tapes now. No progress made
on any of the other releases yet, but i may have some potentially rad
news in the near future.
11.17.08
Parrhesia tapes are done! Buy one! Wooo! Also,
perhaps more importantly, Joey from Ear
Disposal/Throes
repressed the New
Yorker/Throes splits. They're rad as fuck. Buy
one. Get stoked on the Torrential Downpour/Parrhesia splits, they
should be out in the next coming months.
10.29.08
All the tapes & other assorted items for the Parrhesia Demo came in
the mail today, it's time to get crackin! These puppies will hit the streets
on Friday November 14th. On the same day Parrhesia is gonna be thrashing
in a DePaul University classroom with Chicagoans Cloud Mouth and Lautrec,
along with out of towners His Hideous Heart and The New Yorker. Shit is
going to be off the chain. I'll figure out some sort of system for ordering
online by the 14th, also. Uh, I suppose that's really all. I'm stoked,
and I hope everyone else is stoked, too. OH! Mike
C approves of my label and website. Just sayin'.
10.13.08
So it's been over a month since I got this website up, and I still haven't
gotten anything done. Not a good sign, I know, but I assure you things
will get done! Just getting my cash/time situation(s) figured out. Stay
fresh.
09.07.08
What's up everybody? Not much info is available yet, but the re-release
of Parrhesia's
demo tape will be availble in the next couple months. I'm doing a one-time
repress of 100 tapes, some with the original artwork and some with new
artwork. More info will come when available. Stay tuned. |
